The U.S. National Guard is on standby in several states to prevent riots and provocations after the presidential election.
It was reported by the CNN agency on Sunday, November 3.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has warned that threats to "election infrastructure" remain high.
"Based upon general and specific information and concerns regarding the potential for violence or other unlawful activity related to the 2024 general election, I want to ensure we are fully prepared to respond to any potential additional civil unrest," the Washington state governor Jay Inslee said.
After calls from some political leaders for peaceful protests, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek said the National Guard is ready. To ensure security, police chiefs across the United States are making unprecedented plans for Election Day and the weeks ahead.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported on October 23, U.S. President Joe Biden said that Republican candidate and former president Donald Trump is a threat to democracy.
On October 15, Trump said that he "gets along very well" with russian dictator vladimir putin.
However, Trump also said that he threatened putin with a strike against moscow if he launched an invasion of Ukraine.
