The current President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, is ahead of her opponent Alexandr Stoianoglo in the second round of the presidential election by more than 10 percent.
This is evidenced by the results of counting almost 100% of ballots, which are updated online on the website of the Central Election Commission of Moldova.
As of the CEC of Moldova, the counting of 99.82% of the ballots has been completed. The leader of the second round was the current head of state, Maia Sandu.
According to information on the website of the election commission, Sandu won more than 55% of the vote.
Her opponent — the former Prosecutor General of Moldova, Alexandr Stoianoglo — got a little less than 45%.

And although the CEC of Moldova has not yet officially announced the completion of the vote count and has not named the leader of the election race, the above results indicate Sandu's victory.
At night, the current president announced her victory. She said this during a broadcast on her Facebook page.
"Moldova, you won. Today, dear Moldovans, you gave a lesson in democracy worthy of being written in history books. Today you saved Moldova," Sandu said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the first round of the presidential election of Moldova took place on October 21, 2024. At that time, 42.45% of voters voted for Sandu, Stoianoglo took second place with 25.98% of the vote.
