In russia, there was a wave of butter thefts in supermarkets due to a 25.7% increase in the price of the product, sanctions also played a role. Because of this, the aggressor state began to import butter from the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
This is reported by Reuters.
"Russia is importing butter from the United Arab Emirates and Turkey in an attempt to curb the rise in prices that has worried consumers," the report said.
In particular, Rosselkhoznadzor announced on Saturday that deliveries of butter from the UAE began on October 18. The agency of the aggressor state noted that there were no deliveries of butter from the UAE to russia before.
According to the russian Statistics Service, since December last year, the price of butter has increased by 25.7%. This compares with an inflation rate of 8.6% and has caused a wave of butter thefts in some supermarkets.
So far, the UAE has shipped 90 metric tons of butter to russia, which also began importing butter from Turkey in October.
The publication explained that russia seeks to increase the supply of butter in order to stabilize prices and ensure its availability on the domestic market.
Also, russia's butter imports from Latin America fell to 2,800 tons this year from 25,000 tons in 2014, according to Rosselkoznadzor, citing Western sanctions as one of the factors behind the drop in supplies.
"The reduction in the volume of butter imports from Latin America to russia may be related to transport and logistics problems, sanctions and the lack of agreements between enterprises," the report says.
Also, Belarus, the largest supplier of butter to russia, increased its exports by 9% to 110,000 tons this year.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, russia continues to lose economic ties with its once largest trading partner, the European Union. In particular, the supply of goods from Europe to russia collapsed to a minimum for a quarter of a century.
Meanwhile, the United States of America is preparing a new package of sanctions against the aggressor country of russia. They will be directed at third countries that help the russian federation to carry out its aggression against Ukraine.
