Russia arms North Korean troops deployed to border with Ukraine in "infantry-style" way - Defense Intelligence

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports that North Korean troops deployed to areas near Ukraine received russian weapons intended for infantry.

"In the last week of October 2024, the aggressor state of russia transferred more than 7,000 soldiers of the North Korean army from the coastal region of the russian federation to the areas near Ukraine. The North Korean troops were moved with the help of at least 28 military transport planes of the russian Air Force. Moscow armed the North Koreans, in particular, with 60 mm mortars, AK-12 assault rifles, RPK/PKM machine guns, SVD/SVCH sniper rifles, ATGM Feniks and RPG-7," says the message of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in Telegram.

Intelligence also reports that "the North Koreans, or as they are called in the russian occupation army, 'special Buryats', were given some night vision devices, thermal imagers, collimator sights and binoculars." The training of North Korean troops, which the aggressor state has decided to use in the war against Ukraine, takes place at five training grounds.
