US states that there will be enough fighters in Ukraine for a maximum of year of war - media

In the United States, they believe that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will only have enough people for six, maximum 12 months of war, The New York Times writes.

"The Ukrainian army is trying hard to recruit soldiers and equip new units. The number of its soldiers killed in battle is about 57,000. This is half less than russia's losses, but it is a significant factor for a much smaller country," the publication notes.

If US support for Ukraine remains strong until next summer, Kyiv may have an opportunity to exploit weaknesses and an expected shortage of soldiers and tanks in russia.

At the same time, officials and other experts say that the shortage of soldiers and supplies in russia has also increased. And its achievements in the war came at a great price.

The publication reminds that in the summer US analysts already claimed that russia is unlikely to achieve significant success in Ukraine in the coming months. But this assessment turned out to be wrong.

Currently, some American intelligence agencies and military officials are pessimistic about Ukraine's ability to stop the russian offensive.
