One of the countries declared its readiness to become a patron state to help Ukrainians in the aggressor country of russia.
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha in the Telegram channel.
Sybiha reminded that the russian federation keeps thousands of Ukrainian prisoners of war, civilian hostages and deported children on its territory. At the same time, Moscow denies international observers and doctors access to them.
Currently, the authorities are working to return the Ukrainians and ensure proper treatment of them.
"At this week's ministerial conference in Canada, one of the countries expressed readiness to become a sponsoring state under the Geneva Conventions to help Ukrainians in russia. We are working to make this possible," the Foreign Minister emphasized.
