Cabinet appoints Mishchenko as Deputy Foreign Minister

The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Oleksandr Mishchenko as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

This is stated in the message of the government on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"At its meeting on November 1, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted an order on the appointment of Oleksandr Pavlovych Mishchenko as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine," the message reads.

The 60-year-old Mishchenko previously worked as an adviser on international issues to the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Olena Kondratiuk.

In 2019-2022, he was Ambassador to Latvia, in 2011-2018 - Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

From 2008 to 2011, he worked as the director of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for relations with the countries of Central, Eastern, South-Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Turkey.

In 2005-2008, he was Ambassador to Turkey, in 2004-2005 - Ambassador to Australia.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 29, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed former Ambassador to Estonia Maryana Betsa as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

On September 5, the Verkhovna Rada appointed First Deputy Minister Andrii Sybiha as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
