China has introduced sanctions against the American company - the manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles Skydio, which supplies drones to Ukraine.
It was reported by the Financial Times on Thursday, October 31.
The sanctions prohibit Chinese companies from supplying critical components to the U.S. Skydio, which supplies drones to Ukraine, faced a shortage of basic components that it previously received from China.
"Skydio, the US’s largest drone maker and a supplier to Ukraine’s military, faces a supply chain crisis after Beijing imposed sanctions on the company, including banning Chinese groups from providing it with critical components," the report said.
The publication notes that the sanctions caught the American corporation by surprise, as they blocked the supply of batteries from the company's only supplier. The company turned to the Administration of U.S. President Joe Biden for help. The publication notes that U.S. officials are concerned that China could undermine U.S. supply chains and make it difficult to supply drones used to gather intelligence in Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 12, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced the positive dynamics of the destruction of enemy targets by attack drones.
As of October 10, more than 140 new drones have been authorized for use by the Defense Forces since the beginning of the year.
