Ukrainian journalist Yurii Butusov has blamed the country's military leadership for heavy defeats in the Donbas and the loss of very important towns. Butusov told about this on his YouTube channel.
The journalist noted that the town of Hirnyk, which Ukraine has already lost, is the highest point of the Donbas, the highest plateau, a built-up area that dominates all other heights. According to him, the control of Hirnyk allowed, thanks to the drones, to see all the actions of the enemy around at a very long distance. Butusov emphasized that no battles were fought for the town itself, and the enemy entered and occupied it without major assaults and attacks.
"The loss of the town makes it almost impossible and very difficult to further defend the town of Kurakhove, which is also a height with buildings. Now the enemy will have a tactical advantage in this area. The fall of Kurakhove is a matter of time. No amount of heroism can stop such a failure on such a front," emphasized Butusov.
In addition, the journalist emphasized that the military command itself did not allocate forces for the defense of such a key position. Butusov said that currently they want to blame the loss of Hirnyk on the soldiers of the 210th Battalion of the 120th Brigade of the Territorial Defense, who held the front "in open landings, not equipped with anything", but "no miracle happened".
After a departure, this brigade was given a 45 km front, 18 attached battalions were subordinated to the brigade, in addition to its own, and all these soldiers were commanded by a young 32-year-old officer, explained Butusov.
"Management on this front was, to put it mildly, with great problems, combat operations took place. And some commanders of units who fought in this strip and saw this chaos - one commander, an honest man, a volunteer - he even recorded a video explaining the reasons for such chaotic actions, why we are losing positions in the area of Hirnyk.
In his opinion, as a result, on this front, the Ukrainian troops "floundered" and were unable to stop the enemy. Such failures of the front, which occur both in Hirnyk and in other areas of the front. Toretsk, Niu York, in all areas of the front, emphasized Butusov.
This is total irresponsibility of the higher military command, the command does not want to hear bad news, the journalist emphasized.
