AFU comment on statements about alleged capture of Levadne by russians, which was freed during counteroffensive

The russians advanced in the village of Levadne in the Zaporizhzhia Region, but did not completely capture the settlement. The Armed Forces of Ukraine hold positions on the heights around the village.

The spokesman of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, said this on the air of the telethon.

The russians stormed Levadne after completely capturing Vuhledar in the Zaporizhzhia Region. They managed to advance to the depth of the platoon support point.

According to him, it is difficult to defend Levadne because it is located in a lowland. And on the heights around the village there are units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are trying to repel the enemy from the settlement.

The monitoring project DeepState also reports the capture of the village - this is visible on its maps. The village itself was already under occupation and was liberated in the summer of 2023 during the counteroffensive in the south.

Voloshyn says that the russian occupiers will continue to try to move closer to Zaporizhzhia.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, during the past day the losses of the russian occupiers increased by 1,440 people. The Defense Forces also destroyed 100 vehicles and 23 armored vehicles.

Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War believe that the ruler of russia, vladimir putin, is deliberately exaggerating the statistics of the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast in order to justify the inability of his military forces to retake the region.

Meanwhile, in the Kursk Oblast, the invaders of the Akhmat special unit decided to go on an assault and boasted about it on video. However, they did not succeed - the Ukrainian paratroopers completely defeated the invaders.
