Russia will soon transfer 5,000 "elite" North Korean soldiers to Kursk Oblast - NYT

By Monday, October 28, 5,000 North Korean soldiers will be transferred to the Kursk Oblast. Probably, these are soldiers from the so-called "elite" unit.

The New York Times writes about it.

Military personnel from North Korea are transported from Vladivostok on large Il-76 transport planes to a military airfield in western russia, and then taken to a combat zone.

As noted, on Wednesday, October 23, the first North Korean troops arrived in the Kursk Oblast. Since then, North Korean soldiers have continued to be transferred. As the newspaper writes, thousands of soldiers arrive each day.

Informed sources of the publication in Ukraine said that by Monday, October 28, about 5,000 North Korean troops will be gathered in the Kursk Oblast.

According to the interlocutor, the troops are part of an elite unit of the Korean People's Army.

Currently, North Korean troops are concentrated only in the Kursk Oblast.

It is noted that the North Korean soldiers have not yet entered the battle. It is still unclear what role they will play at the front. The NYT adds that it is unclear how the North Korean military will change the dynamics on the battlefield. North Korean troops have not fought a war since the 1950s, so there are questions about the capabilities of even their elite units.
