From the evening of October 23 to the morning of October 24, the russian invaders carried out an air attack on Ukraine. The enemy used two Kh-22 cruise missiles, two Kh-59 guided air missiles and 50 Shahed-type attack UAVs. Air defense forces destroyed 40 drones, 1 remains in the airspace of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 8:30 a.m.
"On the night of October 24, 2024 (from 09:00 p.m. on October 23), the enemy attacked Ukraine with two Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 aircraft over the Black Sea, two Kh-59 guided air missiles from the airspace of the Bryansk Oblast and 50 by Shahed type UAVs and unmanned aerial vehicles of an unspecified type from the directions of Oryol, Kursk and Crimea," the message says.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the air attack of the aggressor state.
It is reported that as of 8:30 a.m., 40 enemy UAVs were shot down in the Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Poltava, and Chernihiv Regions.
In addition, 7 russian drones were lost in location, 1 - in the airspace of Ukraine, 2 more - returned in the direction of russia and Belarus.
It is also indicated that the enemy missiles did not reach their targets.
"Combat work continues! Information is being updated," the Air Force added.
