The United States of America does not have information that could confirm that the North Korean servicemen transferred to russia will be involved in hostilities against Ukraine.
This was said by the strategic communications coordinator of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, his words are quoted by RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, the White House currently does not have information on what exactly the North Korean servicemen will be doing in russia.
"We don't know yet if these soldiers will participate in combat operations with the russian military, but the probability of that is certainly very high," Kirby said.
He added that the military from North Korea is currently undergoing training. After its completion, they can be transferred to the western part of russia, and then thrown into battle against the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Commenting on the number of North Korean troops, Kirby said that, according to the US, in the first half of October, about 3,000 people were transferred to the eastern regions of russia. The transfer was carried out by sea from the North Korean port of Wonsan to russian Vladivostok.
It will be recalled that on October 23, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed that a certain number of North Korean servicemen were indeed transferred to russia for possible participation in the war against Ukraine.
According to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, part of the North Korean military has already been transferred to the central part of the russian federation.
