Occupiers hang flag of North Korea on Pokrovsk axis to intimidate Ukrainians – Center for Countering Disinformation

The russian occupiers allegedly hung the flag of North Korea (DPRK) on one of the areas of the front in the Pokrovsk District (Donetsk Region) in order to intimidate Ukrainians.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council Andrii Kovalenko announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The story about the flags of the Russian Federation and the DPRK, which the Russians allegedly hung on the Pokrovsk axis, is exclusively an element of information operations," Kovalenko wrote.

According to him, now the russians will try to maximize the topic of the participation of the North Korean military in the war against Ukraine.

Kovalenko believes that the occupiers will try to intimidate Ukrainians with false information - turning 12,000 North Korean servicemen into "hundreds of thousands".

"They will frighten as much as possible, they will try to distort the true information about 12 thousand North Korean soldiers on the territory of Russia, with lies about hundreds of thousands," he said.

He emphasized that the North Korean military is indeed being prepared for war on the territory of russia, but their number is much smaller than reported by russian propagandists.

On Monday, Ukrainian journalist Andrii Tsaplienko published a photo of one of the positions on the Pokrovsk axis.
