The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has said that a group of people tried to buy 300,000 votes in the election, which is almost 20% of the total number of those who voted.
NewsMaker writes about it.
"Today, as in recent months, freedom and democracy in Moldova have been subjected to an unprecedented attack. Criminal groups, united with foreign forces, attacked our country with lies and propaganda. We have evidence and information that the criminal group intended to buy 300,000 votes." Sandu said.
She called the attempt to buy votes "unprecedented fraud".
We will remind, the day before the presidential election was held in Moldova. According to preliminary data, Sandu won 41% of the vote, while Alexandr Stoianoglo, who is supported by pro-russian opposition parties (26%), took second place. There will be a second round of election in the country.
Parallel to the election, a referendum was held in Moldova on the issue of European integration. Thus, approximately 50.08% of voters voted for joining the EU, and 49.92% - against.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Information Security Service of Moldova blocked the russian resources Yandex, Rutube, Zen on the territory of the country, and the pro-russian sites Moldova24 and PWA Moldova 24 were also banned.
