The Armed Forces of Ukraine have recently advanced north of Sudzha in the context of hostilities on a key section of the front in the Kursk Oblast.
This is stated in the russian Offensive Campaign Assessment by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) as of October 20, 2024, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In particular, geolocation images released on October 20 show that Ukrainian forces have advanced to the east of Cherkassoye Porechnoye (located north of Sudzha).
Russian sources report attacks by russian troops north of Sudzha near Malaya Loknya and southeast of Sudzha near Plekhovo. In turn, Ukrainian troops advanced to the southeast of Korenevo near Kruglenkoye and Leonidovo.
One of the russian bloggers associated with the kremlin noted that the information about the capture of Plekhovo by russian forces has not yet been confirmed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted the positive dynamics of the destruction of enemy targets by strike drones.
