Zelenskyy convenes NSDC over scandal with Khmelnytskyi MSEC

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convenes a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) and expects tough decisions due to abuses occurring in medical and social expert commissions (MSECs).

The head of state said this during an evening video address on October 20, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Zelenskyy emphasized that while the allies are providing support, the defenders of the sky are shooting down Shaheds and other targets that the aggressor country launches on Ukraine every day, the "internal enemy" is operating in the rear.

"This is really an internal enemy. What is happening with MSECs - medical and social expert commissions - and the audacity of people, in particular prosecutors, who took advantage of their connections with MSECs and registered false disabilities for themselves. I expect law enforcement officers, primarily the SSU, the Security Service of Ukraine, to the Prosecutor General's Office, appropriate quick and tough decisions. Convened the National Security Council," Zelenskyy emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Prosecutor General's Office dismissed the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office, Oliinyk, after the scandal involving the receipt of disability.

Earlier, Oliinyk admitted that every fourth prosecutor of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office has a disability.

The State Bureau of Investigation, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office, exposed the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Center of MSEC Tetiana Krupa and her son, the head of the Pension Fund's regional office, for illegal enrichment.

USD 100,000, a number of medical documents that may be forged, lists of evasions with names and fictitious diagnoses were found in the office of the head of the MSEC.

In addition, USD 5.2 million, EUR 300,000, more than UAH 5 million, branded jewelry and valuables were seized from the officials' homes.

The Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Krupa in the form of detention with the possibility of a UAH 500 million bail.

In October, journalists showed the incomes declared by the heads of regional centers of MSEC.
