French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot arrived in Kyiv on Saturday, October 19. This is his first visit to Ukraine in this post.
This is reported by the French publication Leparisien.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of France came to Ukraine on a two-day visit. According to the mass media, he has already met with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha.
The purpose of Barrot's visit is to confirm France's support for Ukraine, to discuss Ukraine's victory plan, the situation at the front, and the living conditions of Ukrainians.
On the eve of the visit, the minister said on French radio that he was going to Ukraine to "carry the voice of France, to remind that France will not turn away from any crisis."
"To say that the security of our continent is at stake in Ukraine, including food and energy security," Barrot said before the trip.
It is worth adding that this is the first visit of Jean-Noël Barrot to Kyiv as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France. He headed the department at the end of September, when Prime Minister Michel Barnier formed a new French government.
