German Chancellor Olaf Scholz criticized the key points of the Victory Plan of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as their implementation will allegedly lead to further escalation of the conflict.
Scholz said this on October 17 after the EU summit in Brussels, his words are quoted by Bild.
Scholz said he considers it his priority to ensure that russia's war against Ukraine does not turn into russia's war against the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
He stated that he has no intention of changing the decision to provide Ukraine with German TAURUS cruise missiles.
Scholz also does not agree with the quick invitation of Ukraine to NATO. Therefore, he intends to block such an offer, if it is received.
On the question of Ukraine's membership in NATO, Scholz referred to the resolution of the last summit of the alliance, which stated that Kyiv can receive an invitation only after fulfilling all conditions for acceptance and consent of all allies.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 17, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the Victory Plan presented by ZelenskyY allegedly frightened him. Therefore, he intends to seek direct negotiations between the EU and russia to end the war.
It will be recalled that on October 16, President Zelensky publicly presented the Victory Plan. It includes five points that should force Russia to end the war.
In addition, Ukrainians in social networks reacted extremely ambiguously to the Victory Plan.
