On October 16, 163 combat clashes took place at the front, the hottest axis was Kurakhove, where 52 clashes took place during the day, the enemy was also active on the Kupiansk, Lyman and Pokrovsk axes.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated this in its operational update, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Yesterday, the enemy launched two missile strikes against the positions of Ukrainian units and population centers, using two missiles, as well as 64 airstrikes, including dropping 98 guided air bombs.
In addition, the enemy launched 4,786 attacks, 137 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.
On October 16, 163 combat clashes with the russian occupiers were recorded at the front.
So, on the Kharkiv axis, there were four combat clashes in the area of the village of Starytsia.
On the Kupiansk axis, the number of enemy attacks per day reached 18.
The defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Kucherivka, Pishchane, Stepova Novoselivka, Lozova, and Vyshneve.
On the Lyman axis, the russians carried out 17 assaults near Nevske, Makiivka, Torske and Dibrova.
On the Kramatorsk axis, the occupiers attacked three times in the areas of Stupochky and Chasiv Yar.
On the Toretsk axis, the enemy, supported by aviation, carried out one attack near Toretsk.
On the Pokrovsk axis, Ukrainian defenders stopped 15 attacks in the areas of Promin, Krutyi Yar and Selydove settlements.
The russian occupiers were most active near Selydove.
On the Kurakhove axis, the Defense Forces repelled 52 attacks near Tsukuryne, Novoselydivka, Hirnyk, Heorhiivka and near Vodiane.
On the Vremivka axis, the enemy launched four attacks in the direction of Bohoiavlenka, Novoukrainka and near Zolota Nyva.
One assault on the positions of the Armed Forces in the area of Mala Tokmachka was recorded on the Orikhiv axis.
In the Dnieper axis, the enemy conducted six unsuccessful assaults.
The operation is ongoing in the Kursk Oblast.
According to the available data, the aggressor carried out 21 air strikes on the Kursk Oblast, dropping 32 guided aerial bombs.
In general, along the entire line of combat, the Ukrainian defenders are inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces.
Last day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces made 14 strikes on the areas where the enemy's personnel and military equipment are concentrated and the ground control station of the occupation forces’ UAVs.
The total losses of the russian invaders on October 16 amounted to 1,420 people.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 15, 171 combat clashes took place at the front, most of them on the Kurakhove (40 clashes), Kupiansk (28) and Pokrovsk (26) axes.
