Estonia considering possibility of purchasing defense products from Ukraine - Hanno Pevkur

Estonia is considering the possibility of purchasing defense products from Ukraine. Such cooperation could help Ukraine increase production.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Estonia, Hanno Pevkur, ERR portal writes.

Due to the martial law in Ukraine, there is a ban on exports, but Pevkur is convinced that this will not become an obstacle if the countries reach a mutual agreement.

"If we receive the consent of the government of Ukraine, then of course it can be done. It is necessary to understand here that it can be done only in such a wayб that if we buy, Ukraine receives more money. And they will be able to produce more for their army," Pevkur emphasized.

According to Pevkur, if Estonia and Ukraine still reach an agreement on this issue, then Estonia will purchase only what is really necessary for the country.

"Long-range missiles are, of course, interesting for us. There are many different options. Of course, we cannot talk in detail, but first of all we will look at these systems that can affect the enemy at a long range," Pevkur emphasized.

Next week, Pevkur will meet with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine in Brussels, and in the coming weeks he will also visit Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Estonia plans to slightly change the structure of military aid to Ukraine so that it is dominated by the products of Estonian enterprises.
