India has become the second-largest supplier of critical technology to the russian federation under sanctions after China, according to European and American officials.
The Bloomberg agency portal reported this.
According to the estimates of interlocutors of the agency, the export of sanctioned goods, such as microcircuits and machines, from India to russia in April-May 2024 exceeded USD 60 million. This is approximately twice as much as in the previous months of this year.
In July, exports jumped to USD 95 million, second only to China, according to Bloomberg. In general, russia receives about one-fifth of the secret technologies for its military-industrial complex through India.
Interlocutors of the agency indicate that Indian officials practically do not respond to the question of assistance to russia in response to the requests of ambassadors of Western countries.
Due to India's role as a transit country for sanctioned goods bound for russia, officials from the European Union and the United States have visited it several times in recent months.
