The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to control up to 40-50% of the territory of Toretsk, Donetsk Region.
Vasyl Chynchyk, the head of the Toretsk City Military Administration, stated this on the air of the national telethon.
"Approximately 40-50% of the city can be said to be under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The rest of the territory is captured by the enemy. And the enemy is trying and making every effort to completely capture the city in the shortest possible time. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the resistance forces are putting up a decent fight back and holding their positions in to the extent possible," he said.
According to Chynchyk, the russians failed to advance in the city last day.
"Yesterday, not a single advance or capture of any position and not a single house, residential building or critical infrastructure object on the territory of the community was recorded," said the head of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, adding that the russians are making efforts to capture the city as soon as possible.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, about 1,200 people remain in Toretsk, who do not intend to leave, despite the fact that there is not a single surviving building left in the city.
Earlier, Ukrainian photographers Kostiantyn Liberov and Vlada Liberova shared new pictures of the front-line city of Toretsk in the Donetsk Region.
