Over the past day, due to shelling and fighting, there were power cuts in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Kherson Regions.
The Ministry of Energy has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"In the Mykolaiv Region, due to a missile strike on the territory of an energy facility, the substation and household consumers lost power. The power supply was restored according to the backup scheme. Three workers were injured, they were given medical assistance," the message says.
At the same time, in the Kherson Region, as a result of a drone attack, the equipment of a substation was damaged, the substation and household consumers were cut off, power has now been restored.
As of the morning of Friday, October 11, 522 settlements remain partially or completely without power due to hostilities and technical violations.
In particular, in the Poltava Region, due to technological violations, the equipment at one of the substations was turned off, which led to the need to apply emergency shutdown schedules due to low voltage levels, substations and household consumers were cut off. Power has now been restored.
In the Khmelnytskyi Region, for technological reasons, substations and household consumers were cut off in two regions, currently the power supply has been restored according to the backup scheme.
Last day, the power industry restored power to 2,816 consumers who were cut off as a result of hostilities and technological disruptions.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, before the start of the full-scale armed invasion of the russian federation on February 24, 2022, Ukraine produced 44.1 GW of electricity.
At the same time, in the winter before the start of the war, electricity consumption was about 26 GW, and surplus electricity was exported.
The occupation of part of the Ukrainian territory by the russian federation led to a decrease in electricity production capacity by 18 GW.
Until the winter of 2023-2024, Ukraine was able to produce only about 17.8 GW of electricity per hour, while the peak winter consumption reached 18.5 GW per hour, this shortfall was settled by electricity imports.
At the same time, since the end of March 2024, due to russian shelling, Ukraine has lost more than 9 GW of generating capacity.
