The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, following the results of a meeting with the Minister of Defense of Great Britain, John Healey, announced that more AS-90 artillery systems, as well as long-range weapons and robotic systems, will appear on the front by the end of the year.
This is stated in Umerov's message on Thursday, October 10.
The purpose of the meeting of the two heads of ministries was to support Ukraine.
"Great Britain acts in advance, providing our soldiers with the necessary ammunition: artillery, mortars, air defense, anti-tank mines. This is an example for other partners, because timely deliveries allow us to more effectively destroy the enemy. By the end of the year, more AS-90 artillery systems will appear at the front. Also we have good news regarding long-range weapons and robotic systems - the enemy will feel it on the battlefield," Umerov emphasized.
In addition, Umerov and Healey agreed on the training and staffing of Ukrainian brigades and priority needs, which will be financed from the frozen assets of the aggressor country of russia.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 20, President of the European Commission Ursula Fond der Leyen and Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov opened the EU Defense Innovation Office in Kyiv.
On September 23, Umerov reported that currently every second piece of ammunition on the front is of Ukrainian production.
We will remind that the Ministry of Defense engaged international experts for an internal audit to optimize the work of the Ministry, including the activities of the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov and his deputies.
