The Ukrenergo national energy company as part of preparations for winter has accumulated a three-fold, compared to the normative, stock of repair equipment.
This is stated in the company's message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We have a full range of relevant power electrical equipment, we have a reserve emergency fleet of transformers. This winter, we are probably more ready than ever for all possible scenarios - so that we can properly react to them," Oleksii Brekht, acting chairman of the board of the company said this during the "Energy of business 2024" forum.
According to him, thanks to the accumulated experience of the company's employees, the time to restore damaged equipment has been accelerated many times.
"During the last massive missile attack, four of our 750 kV substations were hit. And we restored them to full operation in 13 days. This is thanks to the fact that we have a fleet of equipment, a professional team of people who are ready to come and start doing this work. And we have everything we need almost at the facility that needs to be restored - it depends a lot on how long it will take. We learned how to install an autotransformer in three weeks, transporting it from another region. In three weeks, believe me, no one has ever done this in their life. We are setting records that our colleagues can now match," Brekht said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the beginning of September, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced that the readiness of protective structures at Ukrenergo facilities is more than 85%.
At the same time, the ex-director of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, stated that the second level of protection was built only at Ukrenergo substations, while it was not built at any other facilities, in particular, at power plants.
