The situation at the front "creates an opportunity" for steps to end the war in Ukraine no later than next year.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Ukraine - Southeast Europe summit in Dubrovnik, Reuters reports.
"In October, November and December, we have a chance to move the situation towards peace and lasting stability. The situation on the battlefield provides an opportunity to make this choice - a choice in favor of decisive action to end the war no later than 2025," the President said.
During his speech, Zelenskyy also emphasized that inviting Ukraine to NATO will be the main step towards peace in Europe.
"The first point of the Victory Plan focuses on whether the problem of the lack of geopolitical certainty in Europe will be overcome. Does Ukraine have a place in NATO? If so, and it is duly confirmed, putin will lose geopolitically. Russia must recognize that Europe has borders, independent states, and each of them has the right to choose its future. (...) That is why inviting Ukraine to NATO and future membership for Ukraine would be real steps towards peace. Without geopolitical certainty, peace is impossible," Zelenskyy emphasized.
As previously reported, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, Daria Zarivna, said that the Second Peace Summit will not take place in November. The final date will be determined after the thematic conferences on the points of the Peace Formula with other participants.
