On October 8, access to the register of international public bus routes was opened on the Unified State Open Data Web Portal data.gov.ua.
This is stated in the message of the State Transport Security Service (Ukrtransbezpeka), Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the notification, the published data contains information about all active official routes that have permits provided for by the current legislation of both Ukraine and the countries through which the bus route is opened.
The administrator of the published data is Ukrtransbezpeka.
"The released data allows for the analysis of information on the number of routes, key transport directions, trends to increase/decrease passenger traffic. This, in turn, makes it possible to predict the popularity of existing routes and determine the need for additional ones. The register contains information about the name of the route, the schedule of buses on it, schedule and list of stops, length, total travel time, route operators, etc.," the message says.
As of today, there are 1,237 international bus routes, with Chisinau being the most popular destination.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, in August Ukraine launched a state portal about regular international bus routes.
