Rada stops mobilization of men of limited fitness under age of 25

The Verkhovna Rada has granted a deferment to persons liable for military service under the age of 25 who, due to their health status, are recognized as unfit for military service in peacetime, and limitedly fit in wartime.

Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

A total of 311 parliamentarians voted for bill No. 11379-d as a whole, with the minimum required 226.

The bill proposes to grant a deferment from conscription for military service during mobilization to persons liable for military service under the age of 25, who were recognized as having limited fitness due to their health during wartime, until March 21, 2024.

The provision on dismissal from service of the relevant category of citizens who were mobilized before the adoption of this law was removed from the bill for the second reading.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 9, the Verkhovna Rada plans to ban the mobilization of men of limited fitness aged 18-25, but parliamentarians do not want to release those who have already been mobilized.
