In January-September, steel production increased by 28.2%, or by 1,294,000 tons, to 5,884,000 tons compared to the same period last year.
This is stated in the information published on the website of the Ukrmetalurgprom association, Ukrainian News agency reports.
For 9 months of 2024, compared to the same period last year, the production of pig iron increased by 21.9%, or by 962,000 tons, to 5,356,000 tons, the production of rolled products - by 22.7%, or by 892,000 tons, to 4,821,000 tons.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2023, steel production decreased by 0.6% to 6,228,000 tons compared to 2022.
At the same time, the production of pig iron decreased by 6.1% to 6,003,000 tons, and the production of rolled products increased by 0.4% to 5,372,000 tons.
In 2022, steel production decreased 3.4 times to 6,263,000 tons compared to 2021.
