Japan and Black Sea Trade and Development Bank will send USD 150 million to Ukraine's reconstruction projects

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) received a credit line from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in the total amount of up to USD 150 million to support important projects in Ukraine and promote green initiatives.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Economy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the announcement, the credit line was designed to provide financing for the reconstruction of Ukraine and other affected BSTDB member states.

These funds will be directed to projects for the restoration and reconstruction of the key economic and social infrastructure of Ukraine.

"The main focus will be on strengthening the resilience of the economy, in particular in such sectors as agriculture, food industry, transport and logistics, digital infrastructure and pharmaceuticals. This will ensure sustainable economic growth even in difficult conditions. Up to USD 75 million will be directed to green initiatives and promotion of environmental sustainability in the Black Sea region," the message reads.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, BSTDB is an international financial organization founded by Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.

The headquarters of BSTDB is located in Thessaloniki (Greece).

BSTDB supports economic development and regional cooperation by providing loans, credit lines and guarantees for projects and trade.
