The lawyer of the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Center of Medical and Social Expertise (MSEC) Tetiana Krupa, Anzhelika Moiseeva, stated that the court's decision, which arrested her client with an alternative bail of UAH 500 million, is illegal and excessive, and the suspicion of illegal enrichment is unsubstantiated.
This is stated in the statement of the GOLAW law firm, which represents the interests of Tetiana Krupa.
"The decision to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of bail in the amount of UAH 500 million for Tetiana Krupa is illegal, unfounded and disproportionate. The bail amount of UAH 500 million is unprecedented and exceeds any reasonable limits. This decision violates the principles of proportionality and justice enshrined in national legislation and international legal acts," the defense said in a statement.
Krupa's lawyer noted that the court's decision also grossly violates the client's right to determine a reasonable amount of bail and is clearly excessive for her.
According to the lawyer, setting such a bail raises serious doubts about the objectivity and impartiality of the court decision.
In addition, the defense considers the suspicion of the head of MSEC to be unsubstantiated.
"The suspicion announced to Tetiana Krupa is unfounded and not supported by any evidence. The prosecution did not provide the court with evidence of my client's involvement in the crime she was accused of, and the report of suspicion itself has obvious legal defects," lawyer Moiseeva noted.
She emphasized that the circumstances under investigation in the criminal proceedings do not correspond to the data disseminated in the media.
"My client has always conscientiously performed her professional duties, complying with the law and ethical standards. We will immediately prepare an appeal against the court's decision and will appeal to the appellate authority with a demand to cancel this unjustified decision," the lawyer stressed.
The defense is confident that the appellate court will objectively assess the circumstances of the case and make a legal and fair decision.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the MSEC head Krupa was sent to custody with the possibility of paying a bail of UAH 500 million.
