The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said this in an interview with the Spanish publication 20minutos on Monday, October 7.
Borrell noted that many people want the russian aggression against Ukraine to end as soon as possible. In his opinion, the way the war ends is important.
"If we stop supporting Ukraine, the war will end in fifteen days and Putin will achieve his goals. Many people want the war to end as soon as possible. Let's start with the Ukrainians themselves. But the important thing is how. If we stop supporting Ukraine, in fifteen days the war will end and Putin will achieve his goals. But do we want this for the sake of Ukrainians and for the safety of ourselves, Europeans?" Borrell said.
According to him, Western countries should do everything to ensure that the future negotiations take place on the basis of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
