Applications for pumping russian gas through the Ukrainian gas transport system to the European Union and Moldova somewhat decreased during the week.
This is evidenced by the data of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine company, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Thus, russia's applications for gas transit from October 1 to 7 ranged from 42.00 to 42.26 million cubic meters per day.
At that, from September 24 to 30, russia's applications for gas transit amounted to 42.15 - 42.36 million cubic meters per day.
These indicators were within the traditional daily volumes of transit of russian gas in 2023-2024.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 27, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine will not extend the contract for the transit of russian gas after its expiration in 2024.
The transit of russian gas through the Ukrainian gas transport system on August 8, compared to August 7, decreased by 6% to 37.25 million cubic meters, which is the lowest transit indicator since May 1, 2023, amid reports of the establishment of control by the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Kursk-based Sudzha gas measuring station.

Currently, Sudzha is the only point through which russian gas enters Ukraine for its transportation to European customers.
In 8 months, the transit of russian gas through Ukraine increased by 8% to 10.3 billion cubic meters.
In 2023, Ukraine reduced the transit of russian gas by 28.5% to 14.65 billion cubic meters compared to 2022.
