British military intelligence predicts that after the russian occupiers capture the town of Vuhledar in the Donetsk Region, their next target will be the settlement of Velyka Novosilka of the Zaporizhzhia Region.
This is stated in the review of the British Ministry of Defense for October 5.
Intelligence noted that the capture of Vuhledar took place after the resumption of the russian offensive campaign in September 2024.
By the end of the month, russian occupation forces practically surrounded the town, which led to the retreat of Ukrainian troops.
Russia has made sporadic attempts to capture Vuhledar over the past two years, suffering heavy losses.
"It is quite likely that in the coming weeks, russian troops will try to continue their advance beyond Vuhledar. In the west, one of the likely targets is the settlement of Velyka Novosilka, Zaporizhzhia Region, located on the T0509 highway. 8 km to the north is the settlement of Bohoyavlenka," the department noted.
