Ukraine continues to hold the third place among the main exporters of agricultural products to the European Union market, after Brazil and the United Kingdom.
This is stated in the message of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) Association with reference to the analytical report of the European Commission, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
At the same time, the share of Ukraine in the import of agricultural products to the EU for 6 months. 2024 increased by only 2% compared to the same period in 2023.
At the same time, imports of agri-food products to the EU reached EUR 13 billion, which is 12% less than in May 2024 and 1% less than in June 2023.
"In terms of value, imports from Côte d'Ivoire increased the most - by EUR 951 million (+46%), followed by Nigeria (+EUR 473 million, +132%), which is explained by the rise in cocoa prices. At the same time, imports from Tunisia more than doubled (+107%), mainly due to the increase in the volume and prices of imported olive oil. On the other hand, imports from Australia significantly decreased by EUR 843 million (-46%) due to a decrease in rapeseed volumes, and from Brazil - by EUR 634 million (-7%)," the statement reads.
The aggregate export of agri-food products from the EU for the period of January-June 2024 amounted to EUR 116.4 billion, which is 1% more compared to the same period in 2023.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in September the export of agricultural products decreased by 11.8% compared to August to 4.9 million tons.
In 2023, Ukrainian farmers exported products worth almost USD 22 billion.
