US imposes sanctions against suppliers who supplied drone components to Houthis

The United States imposed sanctions against companies and entrepreneurs in Iran and China that supplied the Houthis with components for the construction of missiles and UAVs.

This is stated in the message of the Department of the Treasury of the U.S.

Suppliers bought the necessary components and then smuggled them to the Yemeni Houthi organization Ansar Allah.

"This action targets key procurement operatives and suppliers located in Iran and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) that have enabled the Houthis to acquire dual-use materials and components needed to manufacture, maintain, and deploy an arsenal of advanced missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against U.S. and allied interests," the statement said.

In addition, sanctions were imposed against two vessels, IZUMO (Gabon-flagged) and FRUNZE (linked to russia), which were illegally transporting Houthi and Iranian commercial cargo.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the leader of the Houthis, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, said that they launched a surface-to-surface ballistic missile at the airport in Israel, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plane was boarding after returning from New York.
