Missile units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully hit a russian Nebo-M radar station with ATACMS ballistic missiles.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on its Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The General Staff notes that its destruction significantly reduces the ability of the russian army to detect, track and intercept aerodynamic and ballistic targets.
"The destruction of the Nebo-M radar will create a favorable "air corridor" for the effective use of the Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG cruise missiles," the message reads.
It is noted that the Nebo-M radar is a very difficult object to defeat, operating in stealth mode, scanning the horizon in search of aerial objects.
According to available information, the enemy has only 10 working systems of this type left, the cost of each of which is estimated at more than USD 100 million.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Thursday, October 3, russian troops launched 105 Shahed attack drones over the territory of Ukraine, the air defense forces managed to destroy 78 enemy drones, one drone flew to Belarus, 23 UAVs were lost in location.
The aggressor country of the russian federation launched 15 attack drones at Kyiv during the night, none of which reached their target.
In August, military counterintelligence officers of the SSU destroyed a russian Kasta radar, which is worth more than USD 60 million.
