Russians claim use of powerful ODAB-9000 aerial bomb in Vovchansk. AFU deny

Information spread on the network that the russians allegedly used a super-powerful aerial bomb ODAB-9000 (mass-detonating aerial bomb) in Vovchansk, Kharkiv Region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that this is not true and is part of the information war, russian propaganda.

This was reported by the spokesman of the Kharkiv operational-tactical group, Colonel Vitalii Sarantsev.

"For the use of this ammunition, a suitable carrier is required, which could theoretically be, for example, a Tu-160 strategic bomber, but the movement of such aircraft was not recorded. An ammunition of lower weight and power was used, the explosion of which was used by propagandists to create a "spectacular" picture,” he said.

Sarantsev added that such messages could be part of an information war aimed at demoralizing servicemen of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, intimidating the local population and destabilizing the region.

"Once again, I call on representatives of the Ukrainian media and administrators of Telegram channels to observe information hygiene and use verified sources of information and not to spread fake messages of russian propagandists, playing along with the enemy!" summed up the spokesperson of the Kharkiv operational-tactical group.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, British intelligence noted that the russian occupiers had to withdraw their forces from the Vovchansk area in order to organize reinforcements in the Kursk Oblast, where Ukraine captured the territory in August 2024.
