Iran threatens with "more destructive" response in case of Israeli attack

Iran's Revolutionary Guards (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) said that if Israel retaliated to the missile attack, Tehran's response would be "more devastating and destructive."

This was reported by the Reuters agency on Tuesday, October 1.

Iran called the strikes on Israel "legitimate" and "legal".

"If the Zionist regime dares to respond or commit further malicious acts, a further and devastating response will be given. Regional states and supporters of the Zionists are advised to sever relations with this regime," the message reads.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters the missile launches were ordered by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who remains in a safe haven after Israeli airstrikes in Beirut killed Nasrallah last week. Tehran is "fully prepared" for an Israeli retaliatory strike, the official added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 1, the White House called Iran's attack on Israel "imminent", for which ballistic missiles will be used.

On October 1, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that missiles had been launched from Iran towards Israel.

The Israeli publication Jerusalem Post reported that Iran launched about 500 missiles towards Israel on the evening of October 1.
