The Center for Humanitarian Demining signed the first contract with the winner of the auction in the Prozorro system for the provision of demining services for agricultural land.
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Economy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
According to the report, it was the operator of mine countermeasures "Ukrainian demining services", which will demine an area of 86 hectares in the Shevchenkove community of the Mykolaiv Region.
"In July, the farm applied for participation in the state compensation program for the cost of demining agricultural land. The territory to be demined in Shevchenkove consists of 12 areas of varying complexity. Cluster munitions, anti-personnel and anti-transport mines, ammunition for small arms are registered on them. Part of the areas are covered with grass, there are also trees and reeds in the area. The operator will receive UAH 4.85 million in the first year of the war," the message says.
According to the report, in total, in the Prozorro system, the Humanitarian Demining Center announced 20 auctions for the purchase of demining services for agricultural land plots with a total area of 6,690 hectares.
The next nine auctions are scheduled for October 1.
At the same time, the area of the plots for which demining services will be purchased is 2,470 hectares, and the starting price is more than UAH 172 million.
"For the first time in Ukrainian history, we have signed an agreement on the demining of an agricultural plot, as a result of open bidding in the Prozorro system. Thanks to competition, the initial price has decreased by more than UAH 1 million. This way, the state will receive cost savings, and the farmer will receive full compensation for the cost of demining from the state. In total, 11 such auctions were held in the Prozorro system. From 2 to 6 participants competed in the auctions. The price drop during the auctions was more than 18%, which will save more than UAH 44 million for the state budget," said the First Deputy Prime Minister - Economy Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, farmers use more than 200,000 hectares of demined agricultural land since the beginning of the year.
The Cabinet of Ministers increased compensation to farmers for agricultural land demining from 80% to 100%.
In April 2023, the Minister of Interior Affairs Ihor Klymenko stated that agricultural land demining would take more than 10 years.
In particular, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, more than 1 million hectares of agricultural land were mined in the Kharkiv and Kherson Regions.
