Russia attacks substation and cuts off power supply line of Zaporizhzhia NPP

As a result of the russian attack on the main substation, one of the power lines of the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia Region) was cut off, and the plant was again on the verge of blackout.

The Ministry of Energy has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to the report, energy workers are working to eliminate the consequences of enemy shelling in order to restore full power to the occupied nuclear power plant as soon as possible.

"Another act of Russian terrorism has created a threat of an accident at the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP. We demand the immediate implementation of the IAEA resolution and the return of the occupied NPP to Ukrainian control. Safe operation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP is possible only under the control of Ukraine," said Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian shelling on September 2 caused damage to one of the two external overhead lines through which the Zaporizhzhia NPP receives power from the Ukrainian power system to meet its own needs.

At the same time, on September 5, the power industry restored the power supply line of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
