Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, does not expect disruptions in the provision of finances for the military and state employees (those whose work is paid from the country's budget funds, in particular, teachers, doctors).
He said this in an interview with the Ukrainian News Agency.
In his opinion, it was a mistake to plan the budget taking into account the hot phase of the war until August, because "we should have started from the worst scenario."
"Today, with the adoption of a decision on changes to the 2024 budget as a whole and the adoption in the first reading of tax increases, the risks for financing expenses by the end of the year should be removed," he said.
According to him, under the condition of implementation of changes to the budget, increase in placement of OVDPs (government domestic loan bonds), all expenses must be financed on time.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Hetmantsev is convinced that raising taxes is the main decision in the field of financing the army during a full-scale war, which had to be adopted at the very beginning.
