Western countries received evidence of the People's Republic of China's supply of weapons to russia. In particular, Beijing handed over specially developed military drones to moscow for testing in combat operations in Ukraine.
As reported by The Times with reference to sources, the supply agreement was concluded last year. Although the name of the company has not been disclosed, it is emphasized that there is now "clear evidence that Chinese companies are supplying Russia with lethal weapons for the war in Ukraine." The unnamed Western official added that, despite the Chinese government's official statements, it would be difficult for Beijing to hide its growing support for russia.
NATO also reacted to this information, expressing "deep concern". Representatives of the Alliance reported that the Allies are already consulting on this issue. According to them, China has become an important factor in the war, supplying dual-use technologies to support the russian defense complex. NATO noted that the Chinese government is responsible for the activities of its companies and must prevent the provision of lethal aid to russia.
"China's aggression in this conflict could have serious consequences for its interests and reputation," the Alliance said, stressing that China must not continue to fuel Europe's biggest conflict since World War II.
