China sends batch of drones to russia to test in Ukraine - The Times

A Chinese company sent a batch of drones to the aggressor country of russia for testing in combat operations against Ukraine.

It was reported by The Times on Friday, September 27, with reference to Western officials.

A new report obtained by Ukraine's allies indicates that a Chinese company sent a number of special military drones to russia for testing, with Ukraine as their final destination, The Times reports.

"According to a Western official, who could not reveal the name of the company, the deal took place last year. However, according to him, there is now "clear evidence that Chinese companies are supplying Russia with lethal weapons for use in Ukraine," the material says.

The official noted that the Chinese government will try to hide its growing support for russia and not admit its involvement in russian aggression against Ukraine.

There is "clear evidence" that Chinese companies are supplying military strike drones to russia for the war in Ukraine, a Western official told Sky News. The publication writes that if confirmed, this will be the first weapons system to be delivered to russia from China for use in Ukraine.

The Chinese Embassy in London said it was "not aware of the specifics".

"China exercises strict export control over drones, and always strictly controls military and dual-use drones in accordance with laws and regulations. China's position and practice have been consistent, in stark contrast to some countries' double standards on arms sales and their behaviours to add fuel to the flames of the Ukrainian crisis,” the Chinese embassy said in a statement.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Chinese authorities have adjusted export control measures regarding unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

On September 13, Reuters reported that russia has been producing a new kamikaze drone with a Chinese engine for more than a year.

Also, China and russia are jointly developing an analogue of the Iranian Shahed.
