Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy Danylo Hetmantsev does not see any reason to believe that there will be galloping inflation in Ukraine in 2025.
He reported this in an interview with the Ukrainian News agency.
"This kind of forecast (about galloping inflation) can be given by people with limited professional or intellectual skills. Today there is no reason to talk about galloping inflation, not even a sharp increase," he emphasized.
According to him, in Ukraine, inflation forecasts for 2025, if we compare the National Bank and the Cabinet of Ministers, are 6.6-9.7%, despite the fact that about 8-8.5% inflation is expected at the end of 2025.
Hetmantsev assures that the situation in the foreign exchange market of Ukraine is sufficiently controlled, including due to the sufficient stock of gold and foreign exchange reserves.
"Indeed, half of our foreign aid is not provided, but we are working to ensure that it is provided. Similarly to this year. Yes, there were interruptions until March. Do you remember how the whole country had a fever? But nevertheless, no disaster happened, as I stated. The situation normalized by the end of the first quarter. Therefore, there are no economic and financial grounds for such forecasts (about galloping inflation)," he added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Hetmantsev is convinced that there is no alternative to raising taxes in the current situation.
