Donald Trump. the U.S. presidential candidate from the Republican Party, has said that he will still meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This is reported by NBC News.
It is reported that Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump will take place on Friday, September 27, around 09:45 a.m. (4:45 p.m. Kyiv time) in New York at Trump Tower.
"It's a shame what's happening in Ukraine: so many deaths, so much destruction. It’s a horrible thing. And one of the things that are very bothersome to me is the fact that Europe is paying only a small fraction of the money that the United States of America is paying, and we have an ocean between Russia and ourselves. They don’t," the U.S. presidential candidate also said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the U.S. Congress began an investigation into Zelenskyy's visit to Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the U.S. Congress demanded the dismissal of Ukrainian ambassador Oksana Markarova and accused her of meddling in the U.S. election.
The speaker accused Markarova of having organized Zelenskyy's visit to a plant in Pennsylvania where weapons for Ukraine are produced. Zelenskyy was accompanied by representatives of the Democratic Party, but no Republicans were invited. Johnson said that Zelenskyy's visit was "clearly a partisan campaign event designed to help Democrats and is clearly election interference.”
