In Poland, due to large-scale floods, the zone of natural disaster was expanded, adding to it the city of Legnica and the commune of Mętków in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
This is stated in the government order, the website of the Polish government reports.
"The need to immediately change the order is dictated by the dynamic changes of the natural disaster - the flood that covered the central part of Europe in September 2024, including the southwestern part of the territory of the Republic of Poland," the document says.
In Budapest, the capital of Hungary, the Danube burst its banks and began to flood the streets, the water has already reached the parliament building.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 16, the Polish government declared a state of emergency in parts of the Lower Silesian, Opole, and Silesian Voivodeships in the south and southwest of the country.
A great flood is raging in Europe, which is already being called the biggest in the last 30 years. In Romania and Poland, there are already the first deaths.
