TikTok deletes accounts of russian media

TikTok deleted the accounts of russian state media along with all videos. The accounts were accused of "participating in covert influence operations."

This is reported by Sky News.

The accounts of RIA Novosti, Sputnik, TV-Novosti and others were deleted.

The accounts of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, which include those listed above, have previously been subject to restrictions in Great Britain and the EU. They were also labeled as controlled by the state.

Last week, the accounts of these media were blocked by Instagram and Facebook for "activities related to foreign interference".

Earlier, the social network said that it would be more active in combating disinformation ahead of the US presidential election scheduled for November.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, a new update to the Instagram application will allow parental control over the content consumed by children and introduce restrictions for minors.
