Netherlands will send Ukraine 3 Patriot launchers – Defense Ministry

The Netherlands soon plans to send 3 launchers for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex to Ukraine, and the country is also trying to find other elements to equip the air defense system.

The Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, stated this in an interview with Delfi, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"We have installed a radar system and very soon we will install three launchers," he said.

Brekelmans assured that negotiations with allies on the issue of strengthening Ukrainian air defense are ongoing.

According to him, there are several countries that also express a desire to help Ukraine with air defense, but they have encountered some problems that prevent the assembly of a single Patriot complex.

"A lot of countries are still very creative about what they can put in, maybe other air defense systems, not just Patriot, because they can also put in NASAMS or something else. But I can't make any concrete statements at this point," added the minister of the Netherlands.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the beginning of September, the Romanian government approved a draft law that allows the free transfer of a Patriot air defense system to Ukraine, and sent it to the parliament for consideration.
